Introduction
Cerita Films is an Indonesian film production studio known for its emotionally driven storytelling and cinematic quality. They produce films that capture authentic human experiences — the kind that stay with you long after the credits roll. Despite the strength of their work, they had no digital presence to speak of.
Background Story
After watching a Cerita Films screening one afternoon, I was genuinely moved by the quality of their storytelling. But when I tried looking them up online afterward, I couldn't find a proper website. That gap between the quality of their work and their digital presence is what inspired me to take on this as a personal design exploration.
Team
Worked independently as the sole designer. Design decisions were based on brand observation, competitive analysis, and visual design best practices.
Defining the Problem
How might we create a digital presence that matches the cinematic quality of Cerita Films' work and makes their story accessible to a wider audience?
Process
Define Problem → Wireframe → PrototypeI identified the problem of Cerita Films having no digital presence despite their quality work, then created wireframes and a prototype to deliver a website that reflects their cinematic identity and makes their films easy to discover.
Research and Ideation
Conducted lightweight research to understand how top creative studios present their brand and portfolio online. References included film production studios, documentary brands, and creative agencies known for strong visual storytelling. Key insights were used to define a layout that balances cinematic aesthetics with clear information hierarchy.

Challenge and Most Interesting
The main challenge was translating the cinematic and emotional quality of Cerita Films' work into a static web experience. The most interesting part was finding the right balance between bold visual storytelling and clean, accessible layout — making sure the design felt both expressive and easy to navigate.
